Madison

Madison

from Chris Merritt:

Pixie And The Bear (2008)

disc one

Wes is the man, freestyle rapping and I still had a rat-tail
Going to JAM, sleeping only seven feet away from your mattress, in the morning, Switchfoot
Is it love, and is it like we’re family?
Sister please, I don’t know

Wes’ little sister, where have you been?
Wes, I really miss her, think I’m gonna drive to your house
Careful what you wish for, Madison, yeah
You’re gonna get a blister, think I’m gonna drive to your house and walk in the front door

Maddie, you and me and Wes should catch a movie or something

I play and I sing, praying that I see you near the front of the stage
Watching you grow, wishing you would call you’ve got a beautiful face
You look a lot like Wes
But I’m not saying I think Wes is beautiful
Or maybe I am, I don’t know?

Wes’ little sister, where have you been?
Wes, I really miss her, think I’m gonna drive to your house
Careful what you wish for, Madison, yeah
You’re gonna get a blister, think I’m gonna drive to your house and walk in the front door

Maddie, you and me and Wes should catch a movie or something
Maddie, you and me should go and get a movie or something
‘Cause Madison you’re better off, you’re better off alone
Maddie, you were better off, better off alone

I think I’m hearing some Ben Folds from your room
You’ve locked yourself away with the dog and nobody else
Enter Nelson with whitey tighties on his head
Wondered Wes, “Are you the Great Retardo?”
Brother said, “I am not, I’m a Ninja Turtle”
But my head wasn’t there, I was thinking, “Mmm, that girl got a sexy pair of ankles”

Wes’ little sister, where have you been?
Wes, I really miss her, think I’m gonna drive to your house
Careful what you wish for, Madison, yeah
You’re gonna get a blister, think I’m gonna drive to your house and walk in the front door
Drive to your house and walk in the front door

Maddie, you and me and Wes should catch a movie or something
Maddie, you and me and Wes should catch a movie or something
Maddie you’re better off, you’re better off alone
Madison you’re better off, you’re better off alone
Madison you’re better off, you’re better off alone, you’re better off alone, you’re better off alone
Drive all day long, drive all day long, drive all night long
Without my favorite family here I’m barely alive

This song is about my friend Wes’ little sister, Madison (obviously). I tried to make it a nice sweet innocent song, but now everyone thinks I want to do naughty things with this girl.

She asked me herself to write a song about her for her birthday, so I thought, what the hell, that would be funny.

When I played this for Wes and Maddie’s family over at their house, her dad stormed out of the room.

Geez, you try to do something nice for your friend’s sexy sister, and everyone gets the wrong idea.
